Under Construction

Relay For Life is a community-based 24 hour fundraising event in support of the work of the Irish Cancer Society Funds raised go to support a wide range of services including patient support and vital research into prevention and treatment.

Relay is a team event, with each team member taking turns to walk during the 24 hours of the event.

The event is based in Duckett’s Grove and uses the walled garden as its walking track. Teams have a base around the track at which they can erect a tent and hold fundraising.

Relay is about three main elements:

Celebrate

During the opening ceremony, a cancer Survivor lap takes place. Anyone who has heard the dreaded words “You Have Cancer” is invited to join in this special lap of celebration.

Remember

During the Candle Of Hope ceremony at dusk, we remember those from our community who have lost their battle with cancer.

Fight Back

Fight Back is about encouraging the local community to take actions to reduce their risks of cancer on a day to day basis.
